Swell continues to perk along this morning. Winds were light early and the Bureau says it’ll be much the same through to this afternoon when we can expect a seabreeze to cut in. Tide will hit low at around 1050 and then come up only a bit until 5pm.
Sets at Dee Why were into the chest high range, so if we see the same pattern as yesterday, it’ll be a bit bigger at beaches with better exposure to the primary ESE swell direction.
Weatherwise, there’s a 40% chance of a shower with partly cloudy conditions.
Outlook, according to this morning’s swell model riffing, is for surf during the mornings all this week. The size predictions have been yo-yo’ing around for the last week, so it now looks as though the peak size will be mid-week through to Saturday. Some of the predictions are talking overhead to 1.5x overhead (8-12′ faces).
Not a bad outlook at all!

Weather Situation
A low pressure system lies near New Caledonia Island, while a high pressure ridge extends from New Zealand towards central parts of the New South Wales coast. A weak southerly change and associated trough moved along southern parts of the coast on Sunday and is expected to develop briefly into a weak low pressure system off the south coast early today before weakening again quickly as conditions in the upper atmosphere warm up. Another trough is expected to move through western parts of the state on Tuesday, but slip away to the south during Wednesday as the high pressure ridge is maintained across the region.
