Saturday morning and still some waves about

Hello Friends,

Swell definitely down a bit from the last few days. Swell is still out of the east at a touch under 2 metres with an average period of about 9 seconds but with some 11 second sets in amongst it. Naturally the water is well populated but the surface conditions before 0700 were quite smooth and whilst a bit setty, there were still a few shoulder high plus sets in the mix.

The wind was light early, but the Bureau says it’ll pick up from the N to NW and get into 20-30 kts before a S change comes through and switches the wind to SE for the rest of the day. Isolated showers are a possibility later too.

High tide arrives at 0820 and the low follows on at 1425.

The forecast models are a bit all over the place this morning. Some interpretations have the waves dropping away to not much of anything from around Tuesday, while others project a reasonable size south pulse on Tuesday – but with southerlies – with the energy levels into the metre plus range at south spots through the rest of the week.

Have yourself a top old Saturday!
