Wednesday waves

Hello Friends,

Waist high at the point and chest to shoulder high among the shutdowns along the beach at Dee Why this morning. Swell is out of the SSE at 1.5 metres or so. It’s mostly about 8 seconds apart, but there is some 11-13 second component in there as well. Wind is set to swing S-SE later, but was offshore for the hardy early risers.

Outlook for the remainder of the day is likely to be less than wonderful. There should be something around, but the wind will be an issue.

Tomorrow is looking more promising with the models showing a couple metres of south swell along with light and variable winds. Outlook beyond that is for the swell to keep on keeping on in the fun chest high range at spots exposed to the primary swell direction. Currently the models are showing a mix of east and south swells through the weekend. Winds should be light too!

Have yourself a great Wednesday!

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Great Australian Bight is extending a strengthening ridge across Victoria and southern New South Wales. The high is becoming the dominant synoptic feature over southeastern Australia during the next few days, moving only slowly eastward and entering the southwestern Tasman on Thursday. On Friday a trough is expected to form over far southwest Queensland then deepen over NSW over the weekend as it moves slowly to the east. A low pressure system may form off the NSW coast towards the end of the weekend or on Monday but at this stage the timing and position of this system is very uncertain.
