"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Hello Friends,

Not much of anything showing at Dee Why this morning. The MHL data is showing about a metre of 9 second period SSE swell off Sydney. But if Dee Why was any guide, nothing much is coming in. There might be something slightly bigger at more exposed spots. But only slightly.

The models are telling us that this morning’s already feeble conditions aren’t likely to improve later. Indeed, it could be at least a couple days before there’s even a slight improvement.

The long range forecasts are currently showing an interesting long period south pulse arriving mid next week. That’s pretty far away though, so I’m not putting it into the probable category just yet, but it’s good to see something like that in the numbers.

Have yourself a great Thursday one and all!

Weather Situation
A broad low pressure trough has recently entered the southwest of the state while a high pressure ridge is weakening over the northeast. The trough and associated cold front are expected to move across New South Wales today and on Friday, accompanied by strengthening northwest to southwest winds. Another cold front may pass across the south on Sunday, triggering strengthening southwesterlies over the southern half. A high pressure ridge in a wake of the trough will start building over New South Wales during the weekend but tight pressure gradients over New South Wales coast will maintain fresh to strong south to southwesterly winds until early next week.
