Not all that huge, but clean at a few spots

Hello Friends,

At first light it was drizzling under low and dark grey skies. The wind was out of the SSW at 20-30 kts and the south swell, was, well… it was very south. Dee Why point was showing the odd shoulder plus set and it was around the same size in the (unpopulated) beach break as well. The swell may be 4 or 5 metres offshore, but even up at the north end of the beach, there really wasn’t anything of remarkable size. Modest it was compared to expectations.

Around the corner at the Collaroy Narrabeen stretch conditions were clean but not very big at the south end and only in the head high range up toward Marquesas/Gardens. Long shutting down lines were the order of the morning and no one was in amongst them.

Outlook for tomorrow is not red hot as the wind is expected to swing more to the south. That ought to push more swell in, but it’ll also scrub a few spots off the already short list of options.

Have yourself a great Saturday!

Weather Situation
A low pressure system over the central Tasman Sea is deepening, while a strong high pressure system over the Bight moves slowly east. A vigorous south to southwesterly airstream is being generated between these systems, which will gradually ease through the weekend as the low moves away from the region. The high will then be the dominant feature in the region, until the next cold front late next week.
