Evening update: cold but a little perk

Just a quick update to note that the swell perked into the rideable range late this afternoon. Wind was damn cold though and the skies were growing darker with the impending rain.

Still, for a couple of dozen keen riders, there were some softish but workable offshore lefts and rights folding in from the SE on the banks just north of the surf club. There was a little activity up toward the pole, but the SW wind was more sideshore from there north, so the pick was the corner.

The evening forecast for tomorrow reads rather differently from this morning’s version:

Saturday 1 September
Winds
Southwesterly 20 to 25 knots turning southerly 25 to 30 knots in the afternoon.
Seas
1.5 to 2 metres increasing to 3 metres around midday.
Swell
Southerly up to 4 metres.
Weather
Isolated thunderstorms.

4 metres??? Really??? Nothing like that showing on the MHL data right now…

Catchya tomorrow!
