Small surf Sunday
Posted by: Don on October 21st, 2012
Hello Friends,
Another smoky start for Sunday, but there is still a little south bump making its way in. Nothing too amazing really. Sets are around the waist high mark, so it looks to have dropped a little from yesterday morning. Reasonable number of folk in, not surprising really given the prospect of mainly sunny skies and the odd catchable wave. Wind is set to go SE later this afternoon, so if you want to get wet, I’d be heading out sooner rather than later.
We’re set to go into a regime of south winds from this afternoon and through Tuesday. This should see an improvement in swell height, but I’m not overly hopeful about the surf prospects. South corners anyone?
Have yourself a great Sunday one and all!

The swell was getting less consistent by Monday night, but there were still some solid sets, the wind was lightly offshore and the crew wasn’t going to let Dee Why go gently...
One more day left for the magic swell and lots of folk got on it, even though it was a Monday morning. I set up near the surf club and shot for over an hour. So, if you caught any...
More fun for the large crew that pretty much lived at Dee Why for this swell. Late afternoon light was lovely and as before, I set up not far from the surf club to get the sweetest...

Saturday morning dawned sunny and offshore at Dee Why beach. The crew were on it, and before I went for a surf myself, I shot for an hour from about 0840. I would’ve taken even...
