A Sad Day For Surfing, In Byron bay Today.
Posted by: Big Ben on October 24th, 2012Skype was buzzing with saddened calls from mates in the states as we heard the news, in Byron bay today. Donald Takayama had suddenly passed away early this morning. The bloke that brought so much joy to many over the years through his board designs and sheer love for the ocean has left. I found he was always a pleasure to chat with when he came over here and I know he’ll be deeply and sadly missed by countless crew around the globe, Rest In peace Donald. As for the waves, well the weather was kind of angry today, it just blew a gale all day making it hard. But a few managed to squeeze out some reasonable moments and at least there was some swell to go around as well, In Byron Bay Today.
