Summery Sunday but not much wave energy in Sydney

Busy day

Hello Friends,

Toasty 30 before 0900 this morning (3 above the forecast high for today). Light NE breeze was ruffling the 1.5 metre, 9 second period east wind swell. It wasn’t making any impression surfwise at Dee Why. Beach was busy from early thanks to the combo of a warm, sunny Sunday morning and some manner of surf carnival. But I didn’t see any waves. There were a few bods messing about near the point. High tide is a touch after 0900.

Wind will come around to the south toward evening says the Bureau. We might get a little size boost for tomorrow morning, but it’ll be southerly all day, so I’m not too hopeful of any quality.

The rest of the week seems to be shaping up more or less like the one just past – ie, marginal wave size, but not flat and mainly onshore winds across the period.

Summer in Sydney… what can ya do?

Weather Situation
A high pressure system near New Zealand extends a ridge to the northern New South Wales coast. A low pressure trough and associated cold front will bring a southerly change to the south and central coasts during Sunday. This trough is expected to to stall over the north by Monday as the next high moves south of the Bight and extends a ridge to the Tasman Sea.
