Southerly arrives

Bomb set

Shorey stuff

Hello Friends,

So, how ’bout that Slater? Yikes.

Meanwhile, in Sydney it’s not quite so inviting as the last few sunny mornings, but the little swell we’ve had recently is still here, despite the overnight arrival of the southerly. It’s about 10-15kts now and the Bureau expects it to pick up a little more. South corners will obviously be the go. Sets look to be mainly in the waist high range at Dee Why, but you might find something a bit bigger elsewhere with better exposure to the NE swell direction. It’s still around the 1.5 metre mark and about 9 seconds apart, so there should be the occasional shoulder high bomb at exposed spots. There’s an 80% chance of showers today and the Bureau says the wind could shift more to the S-SW this afternoon.

Tomorrow is shaping up to be pretty similar to today, but it could pick up in the late arvo and Saturday morning just might be seriously fun!

UPDATE: Grabbed a shot of a little peak near Marquesas around 0815. Kinda sideshore and pretty fat on the incoming tide, but hey, it’s still surfable. Seemed to be peaks of some sort dotted along the beach from there to North Narrabeen…

Cross-shore Marquesas
