The Goat’s Surf Forecast

Surf forecast issued Friday 22 March 2013.  Seven day outlook for Sydney:

Well here’s the news kids – I’m still on holidays so the surf will still be ordinary… 🙂

Nice weather, ordinary surf, with lots of Noreasters… They just go together sometimes… like now.  Which would suit me if the banks were OK, but they aren’t at some places…  If you can find a place where the banks are OK you might find some small fun waves at the right tide… Anyhoo

Saturday: around 1 metre or so North East

Sunday: a bit smaller

Monday: similar

Tuesday: ditto

Wednesday: maybe up a little into the 1-2 metre range East North East

Thursday:  similar North Nor East

Friday: around 1 metre or so at places that handle dead South swell.

Water temp has dropped a little with the strong Noreasters over the last few days causing some upwelling of cold water from below.

It’s currently around 23 according to MHL, but with a series of NE days to come I wouldn’t be surprised to find it dropping noticeably over coming days.  Just a temporary thing until the next Southerly change… There’s plenty of warm water offshore brought down the coast by the East Coast current…
