Fading Friday

Hello Friends,

Have to run into town early, so can’t see or photograph any waves for you until later. However, the MHL buoy is showing our swell has faded by a foot or two over yesterday morning. At 0600 it was averaging 1.5m from the east with a still plausible 11 sec period. Should be a small wave around…

later…

That'll do

Behind you!!

Came back along the beaches around 0800 and can report that Manly looked to be the best (and most crowded) of the lot. There were head plus sets at North Steyne and waist to chest plus elsewhere along the stretch. Didn’t see any activity at the Bower. Curly continues to be an unhappy hunting ground for the most part. That one peak just north of the south Curly surf club had a small group on it. Sets were chest to shoulder on the biggest ones, but inclined to be sloppy and lumpy. Dee Why point produced a chest plus set when I checked, but I wouldn’t think those were too common because up the beach the pickings were extremely slim. Figure waist to chest and you’ll be in the vicinity. The Collaroy-Narrabeen stretch was smaller again, but that said, there were a few little peaks and I reckon you might see the occasional chest plus up toward Northy.

Enjoy if you can!

A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is weakening and extends a weak ridge to southeast Queensland. A complex low pressure system south of The Bight is moving slowly east with a series of fronts associated. A quite significant front will cross southern and central NSW today with strong winds for coastal waters south from the Hunter. On Saturday another high pressure system is expected to develop over central Australia and extend a ridge over northern NSW while another front passes to the south of the state.
