Windy start with little bumps to be had

More than before but...

Catching bumps

Hello Friends,

Light NE wind this morning with a fluffy 2 metre NE 6 sec period wind swell. Tide’s low at 0900. Sets at Dee Why beach are in the waist high range and pretty choppy looking. The Bureau tells us that the wind will be 15-20 kts from the N to NE in the middle part of the day before becoming lighter in the late afternoon.

So, scrappy, small, sideshore and pretty marginal at spots with exposure to the NE. Not all that hopeful you’d have to say. I’m with the Goat on the outlook for the next few days. Based on the modelling a couple of days ago, I was getting a little hopeful about the end of next week seeing some longer period east swell, but it now looks as though any improvement will be from the mid-north coast to the border.

Big shout out to all the dawn patrollers who’ve made their pledges toward our crowdfunding effort! Thanks you guys and good to see some old friends among yesterday’s pledgers.

So, will you be paddling out with the dawn patrol today?

Whatever you decide, best wishes for a top old day and keep on smilin’!

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the central Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the north, while a weakening low pressure trough moves over eastern parts of New South Wales. This trough will cross the southern coast this morning and the northern coast by early Saturday, with coastal winds easing in it’s wake. Following this, another high is expected to develop across the region during the weekend, promoting generally light wind conditions.
