Little waves to be had

Point in waiting mode

Hello Friends,

Looks as though we have some small south swell this morning which, combined with an incoming tide (high’s around 1030), is producing waist to chest high wave faces at Dee Why beach. The period looks too short, and the direction is too south, for the point to show anything. I don’t have the actual numbers for height, direction and period this morning because the MHL site was down. I should imagine there’s a flurry of activity in their IT department this morning. They really do offer an invaluable service to those of us who work and play in the ocean. It’s so easy to take something like that for granted…

Surf outlook is dominated by a forecast for strong N-NW wind across the next couple of days. Swell is generally expected to be our of the south, but it looks as though it’ll mostly be a metre or less. I’d been hoping for a little pulse around Thursday, but the models are diverging between yes, “there could be something” to “naw, nothing much at all”. Ah well, it’ll be what it’ll be I guess.

Hey, I made a little video from Friday’s surf sesh at Crescent Head… if you like it, please share it out to your networks! I hope it persuades a few more folks to get on board with our crowdfunding effort.
