Yesterday evening at Longy

Hello Friends,

Cold start to the day, but the swell perked overnight and keen types were on it at Dee Why beach. Sets looked to be in the shoulder plus range around 0700 when I took my first look for the day. As of 0730, wind was out of the SW-WSW at 10-15 kts, swell was coming from the S-SSE at 2+ metres with an average period nudging the 9 second mark. According to the forecast, it’s going to peak this morning and then fade back later in the day. Meanwhile the wind should drop but swing through the easterly quarters to the NE as the day goes along. Low tide is at 0800 and it’ll be back to high at 1420. There’s a 70% chance of some light precipitation later.

Outlook for tomorrow and beyond? Please have a look at the Goat’s forecast!

I’ll be keeping an eagle eye on the crowdfunding stats today. As I write this, we’re up to 67 wonderful pledgers and there’s about $300 bucks between us and hitting the 50% mark. Putting my thinking cap on about what else I can do to persuade you to join those fine folks with your own pledge… I’d love to hear any brilliant ideas you might have because I’ve only got 41 days to get this over the line. If I fall short, all this effort will have been for nought as we do not get a cent if the target isn’t achieved. Having filed reports for 18 years, I’m not about to give up, but gee it’d be good to actually have a dev budget for once. So, c’mon, even a little pledge will help us out – and being generous puts a bounce in your step too!

Go well with your Friday and keep on smilin’
