"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Not a ripple to be seen…

Hope springs eternal
Hello Friends,
The 0600 MHL directional specta chart shows not a hint of energy in the ocean. Near perfect flatness apparently. But, eyeballing it, I could see a faint little dribbly line at Dee Why. Nothing you could surf though. Not even close. Works for me. I’ve got a magazine looming along with trying to do everything I can to get the crowdfunding effort over the line in the next month.

While we don’t have any prospect of a wave today that I can see, the Bureau has a warning for ‘Deceptively powerful surf conditions’ on Friday. According to the wave models we’re set to see a brief south pulse with a relatively long period on Friday. Winds on Friday morning should be reasonably favourable too. They’re set to be SW early and then to swing NE, plus the tide’s low at 0710. Might be some energy at spots with good south exposure – and protection from the NE. The models also project tiny conditions for Saturday, but then another south pulse on Sunday.

Good to have something to look forward to!

Speaking of looking forward, Surfrider Foundation’s ticket raffle for a Maldives trip with Barton Lynch and Perfect Wave in May closes at noon today. Here are direct links: 1x tix for $10 or 3x tix for $20 .
