"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Still in the holding pattern

Looking like a lake
Hello Friends,

Another day of flatness for Dee Why. The MHL directional spectra chart is showing only the faintest trace of short period NE wind chop and the ocean looks like a dark blue billiard table. We’re in for a hot and windy day and the Bureau’s modelling is telling us that as the wind comes around in the middle part of the day to the SW and gets up to a ferocious 25-35 kts, that the swell will pick up – from the NW. So it’ll stay micro inshore but no doubt be pretty ordinary offshore.

However tomorrow morning should see the arrival of a brief south pulse and offshores along with a low tide at 0710. I’ll be getting up early for that one.

Four weeks from this morning, we’ll know whether or not the crowdfunding drive succeeded. And I’ll be recovering from the campaign wrap party. From here the target is still looking achievable. We’ve reached the 65% mark thanks to 90 fantastic pledgers, so if we can find another 90, we ought to get there. If today’s a typical one, we should see roughly 20x that number of people stopping by RealSurf for their daily check. Plenty of potential there, so I’m not about to let up trying to persuade you to jump in with a pledge! C’mon…! And don’t forget that all pledgers will be receiving an invite to Don’s Surf Party. Space is limited though, so don’t put that pledge off too much longer. 🙂

Have yourself a great Thursday, and stay happy.
