Hot morning
Hello Friends,

I wonder how we’ll go with the crowdfunding today… the countdown’s begun and I’m still wondering if Don’s Surf Party will be a wake or a celebration. Speaking of which, said wrap party is by invitation only, so you have to pledge something to get on the list. At this stage I’ve organised a muso, some fresh footage from Tim Bonython’s upcoming ASMF, some pretty boards to bid on from the forum’s Joshua Dowling and local hero Mike Psillakis, there’ll be a nice chunk of my rarely seen 1977 footage (MP at Kirra, Winki and in the Stubbies semi against Rabbit, etc), and finally, 702 ABC’s Simon Marnie has kindly offered to help with mic duties.

Okay, surf report time…

Sunny, scary hot (this used to be spring time), blasting NW winds and barely a metre of 6 second period east wind swell add up to not much in the way of surf prospects.

A stiff southerly change is set to come through this evening and tomorrow morning it should be dialling back as it heads to a late afternoon NE change. The Bureau expects a southerly swell to start filling in from around midday. A bit uncertain on how well this will all work, but my hunch is we’ll see mostly scrappy conditions but that there might be some amusement in north corners with the right banks. It should be better than today’s prospects anyway!

Have yourself a top old Thursday everyone!

Tide will be high at 1150 and low at 1835.

Forecast issued at 4:10 am EDT on Thursday 10 October 2013.
