Small Sydney, smaller SoCal

Hello Friends,
Sorry to have not filed anything for a few days now. I’ve decided to stick around another week to help out my friends, so normal service from me won’t resume until next weekend.
Looking at the WRL pic at checking a couple of the cams, it looks as though conditions are pretty marginal, but offshore at 0900. MHL is showing 6 second period wind waves of about a metre from the NE. Tide’s high around 1110. Wind’s set to come up and blow pretty hard later from the N-NE. So, maybe your fave NE summer spot will be producing some wind lump action for the late… with luck it might last into tomorrow morning because the wind doesn’t look like letting up.

Really tiny here again, which is probably just as well since I haven’t really had an opportunity to get in the water. I’m going for a drive down the coast soon, so maybe I’ll find something to take a picture of for another little postcard.

Look after yourselves!

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge into northeastern New South Wales, while a slow-moving trough approaches from the west. Between these systems, a northerly airstream will dominate along most of the coast for the remainder of Friday. The trough is expected to bring a southerly change to the far south later on Friday, gradually extending the northern half of the coast by Sunday, where it is likely to stall. Also during the weekend, a strong high south of the Bight will begin to push a ridge towards the southern Tasman Sea as a low develops over inland New South Wales, likely leading to the development of onshore winds through the early part of next week.
