Swell on its way?

Early lines
Hello Friends,

At 0400 the Eden MHL buoy directional spectra was showing 12 second period SSE swell at an average height of 2.3 metres, but with peak seas and swell of 4.7 metres. Wind down that way is around the 30 kt mark from the south. I mention this, because it should mean we’ll see that energy (and wind) here before long. The good thing for us is that the Bureau says although strong, the wind is set to be SW through much of the day. As of 0700 Dee Why was showing waist to chest plus wave faces along the beach, but nothing much at the point – yet.

The Bureau expects the swell energy to peak overnight but we should still have solid waves tomorrow and into Wednesday. The big issue will be the wind because although it starts out SW, late this afternoon it goes south and stays that way all day tomorrow.

Interestingly, while the back half of the work week looks ho-hum, this morning’s long range modelling points toward another burst of south energy at the weekend.

Get a few if you can and have yourself a top old Monday!
