Summa

Yep it’s that time of year we have NE windswell dribble. Great day for beginners to find the best surfboard for learning and have a go. For the rest of us some Xmas shopping or Xmas party action will do. Mark – Surfboards Direct

The waiting game continues

Hello Friends, I’m calling it 1 out of 10 at Dee Why. Maybe I shouldn’t be so harsh though. Just because it’s almost perfectly flat, doesn’t mean it’s such a bad day at the beach. You could go for a walk or a swim or get out the SUP and have a paddle around. Skies […]

Yep, tiny again

Hello Friends, Another day of near flat conditions. Take the long board and a large reservoir of patience. Or, just go for a beach walk (grab some litter as you leave too!). Energy is at a low ebb with only the faintest of faint SE swell lines coming in. The MHL buoy is showing 0.9 […]

Not much today

Hello Friends, As you look at the depressing flatness of your favourite beach this morning, it’s worth knowing that you could go pretty much anywhere on the east coast and not find anything much better. There’s not much of anything in this morning’s forecast data either. We might possibly get some little bumps at east […]

The Last Monday

Probably the last Monday at work for most. Lucky for the workers it is flat n onshore and not even worth a photo. Mark

Curly Sunday

Hello Friends, Stopped by Curly for a look at about 0945. Lots of folks on the beach at the north end but there was actually a little sort of waist plus peak happening. Rides were pretty short, but they were rides – particularly if you had a long board to deploy in the pursuit. And […]

Micro in Sydney, but Fanning world champ

Hello Friends, Pretty good timing my end. Had just logged in to get started on the report, flicked on the Pipe masters only a minute or two before Mick Fanning won the World Title with a spectacular set wave. Nice acceptance speech too. Guy seems like a real gentleman. Meanwhile, back in Dee Why the […]

Southerly n Small

Brisk southerly isn’t making much attractive surf with a few hiding down the south end getting small leftover NE windswell I think. Good conditions for those of us closet SUP’ers doing the 20 Beaches Race from Freshy to Palmy today though. 25km of fun or pain depending on your view. Mark – Surfboards Direct

Tiny but not totally and absolutely flat

Hello Friends, Very small to almost – but not quite – flat this morning at the Dee Why to Longy and the Collaroy Narrabeen stretches. There’s a wee little NE wind swell of about a metre at 5 seconds apart. This translated into knee to maybe waist on the best sets at the best spots. […]

Unlucky Friday

Almost nothing on offer but some tiny NE bumps. Northerly is kicking in too. Got to fly a plane along the Northern Beaches yesterday as a birthday present from the wife. Pretty cool to buzz the house and see it all from so close. Didn’t see any sharks or secret spots sorry. Mark – Surfboards […]
