"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Sunny, glassy… micro

Hello Friends,

At 0400 the MHL buoy off Sydney was recording 1.3 metres of 10 sec SE swell. As the day got started wind was light and skies were clear, but the high tide was pretty much swamping anything of interest at Dee Why. There were a few bods in the water up the beach from the SLSC, but as nearly as I could tell, they weren’t finding anything above knee high – and those were mainly shutting down on the sand.

This morning’s surf forecasts are not too hopeful for the near term. What we’re seeing now could be as good as it gets until mid to late next week. But then it starts getting interesting. For the last week or so, the models have been projecting at prolonged period of juicy east swell and this morning sees them sticking with that call. If they’re right, we could see energy for up to a week – or more. And the further up the NSW coast you go, the better the prospects. I’m allowing myself to get cautiously hopeful.

Anyway, there might be a little something at a better exposed stretch.

Get up to some good where you can and have yourself a top Friday one and all!
