"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Sunny, glassy, small, so small

Hello Friends,

As expected conditions are faint to barely marginal this morning at Dee Why. Swell is only barely registering down at the Port Kembla buoy (Sydney’s off the air unfortunately) and looking at Dee Why, I’d say we’re pretty much the same, ie tiny, east and short period.

The Sunday crew were in the water anyway as it is a glorious morning in every other respect. Biggest set wave face I saw was a trembling thigh high shutdown up the beach from the SLSC. I suppose there might be something just slightly bigger around at Curly, but then again, maybe not… there really isn’t much energy in the ocean right now.

This morning’s serving from the swell forecast modelling folk continues to show us having another few days of flat to barely surfable conditions ahead of a solid looking E to ENE swell from sometime Thursday on through the weekend and into the following week. As they’ve been indicating for some days now, the expectation is that we’ll have up to double overhead on Saturday and Sunday. The Bureau’s wind forecasts go out to Saturday and they’re showing onshores for Thursday and Friday most of the day, but potentially dropping away to light by Friday evening (when the swell should really be ramping up), then going light offshore for the Saturday dawn patrol. A lovely looking prediction… let’s hope reality comes close to it.

Have yourself a top old Sunday everyone!
