Crescent dribbly but not flat

Hello Friends,

Not to worry. You’re not missing much at Crescent Head this morning. The joint may be overflowing with boomer longboarders (there’s a comp this weekend), but only about 10 people could be bothered having a go at the knee to waist high gutless dribble. Happily we got in a couple of times yesterday (see vid below from the morning sesh), so we’re being philosophical about the situation. Might go for a paddle just to get wet later.

Sydney’s got about a metre of 12 sec SE swell, with light NE wind as of 0900. It feels a bit more SSE up here, and the size is about the same at sea, but Crowdy Head is reporting about 9 sec periods – hence the gutlessness. Although the wind forecast is dour for us, the swell should start to perk overnight, so we’re gonna stick around just in case.

A few days ago the swell models were projecting substantial swell for Sunday, but they’ve gone off the boil this morning. This isn’t to say it looks bad or anything, far from it, but it probably won’t be gun worthy. Still, there could be solidly overhead sets at east spots, particularly on Monday, so that’s not too awful a prospect.

Have yourself a great day and keep on smilin’!
