Rainy morning and something but not for Dee Why

Hello Friends,

Grey skies and drizzling when I checked around 0830. No one in the water that I could see but there were some chest plus looking shutdowns unloading along the beach. The MHL buoy report from 0500 was indicating SSE swell of 1.4m at 16 seconds. Bit surprising that nothing seemed to be happening at the point when I checked. Given the juicy look to the sets I saw, I reckon there could be something worthy somewhere…

Outlook according to the forecast models, is for the energy to stay in the surfable range through the weekend, but to be on the fade and then small (but not flat) into next week. Beyond that it’s the usual mixed picture. I’m hoping the projection of a sizable pulse in a couple of week’s time will in fact happen. 🙂

Have yourself a great Friday one and all!

Weather Situation
A high lies over the Tasman Sea while a trough extends through western Queensland and New South Wales. This trough will move eastwards today, with a transient low expected to develop off the northern New South Wales coast. This system should move rapidly away to the east on the weekend as the Tasman Sea high weakens, with southerly winds extending along the coast in its wake. A new, although fairly feeble, ridge is then expected to extend across the region from the west.
