"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Lots of (disorganised) energy

Hello Friends,

Tide was dropping to the low at 1005, nearly 3.5 metres of swell was coming from the SE at 10 seconds apart and wind was W-WSW at 10-15kts, so why was the ocean such a heaving mess? There were only a couple of bods in the water at the point for the early and no one I could see was bothering with the hard work of the beach break. Too much water in motion for the time being.

The Bureau tells us that it should be southerly this morning to 15-25kts but this afternoon the wind should weaken a bit. At the same time the swell is set to drop back too. Protected south corners again are your only real option I’d say.

And it looks as though the swell will fade out as we get toward the end of the week. The baleful southerly wind will be a continuing factor, although it should be a little less vigorous and therefore the early sessions could be increasingly cleaner.

Spring approaches…

Weather Situation

A low pressure system over the central Tasman Sea is moving east, while a high is centred to the west of Bass Strait. This high will be the dominant feature in the region during the next few days as it drifts slowly east and extends a ridge northwards along the New South Wales coast.
