Back to tiny for Monday

Hello Friends,

Although the Bureau says the swell should bump up briefly this morning, when I checked it for the first time around 0700, conditions were marginal to near flat. The expected SE wind hadn’t appeared, so at least it was glassy. Tide was high at 0710, which wasn’t helping much. I reckon you’d be doing well to find a knee to waist high peak at a south magnet spot. And you better get on it because that SE wind can’t be far off.

Outlook for the remainder of the week is not looking quite as hopeful as it did yesterday. The intense system predicted to swing into the Tasman next weekend is now shaping to slam into NZ but to miss our side of the Tasman. (Looks like western exposures from SA to TAS will be coping some big stuff, but there’ll be heaps of onshore with it.)

Have yourself a great Monday everybody!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will move east further east today. A cold front which brought a southerly change to the southern half of the coast last evening is weakening. A northerly airstream should return during today, strengthening by the end of the day. A stronger cold front is expected to affect most of the coast on Tuesday and the north early Wednesday, bringing another southerly change. Winds are expected to ease on Thursday as the next high makes its way across the coast to the Tasman Sea by Friday.
