"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Hello Friends,

Yesterday I’d hoped we might have a window of favourable wind conditions this morning, but Huey is having none of it and instead it was blowing SE from the get-go. A high tide at 0845 wasn’t helping either. The 1.4 metre, 8-sec period ESE swell was a marginal enough proposition, but given the wind and tide, it’s really not happening at all at Dee Why. And I doubt very much that anywhere else will be terribly interesting. If you’re really desperate, brave the onshores and find someplace picking up what little energy there is.

The outlook for the rest of the week isn’t too interesting I have to say. Tomorrow and Friday are shaping to be marginal to flat. There might be a wee little NE bump for Saturday morning (thanks to a burst of NE wind on Friday), but other than that it would seem that the east coast is in for an extended period of micro wind swell. The models are showing plenty of activity in the southern ocean, but it’s all shown swinging wide of Tasmania and running up the west coasts of New Zealand. Typical spring pattern I’d say.

Have yourself a great Wednesday and go well with your endeavours great and small!

Weather Situation

A low pressure trough and fresh to strong southerly change will cross the far northern NSW coast today as a high near Adelaide extends a ridge over southern NSW. The high will move slowly to the east to be centred over the Tasman Sea by Friday with winds turning fresh to locally strong northeasterly over coastal waters. The next trough system is expected to cross the state slowly over the weekend with north to northeast winds persisting Saturday.
