So so-so

Hello Friends,

This morning sees the swell out of the SSE at a touch under 2 metres at sea with an average period in the neighborhood of 9 seconds. Wind was lightly S to SSW when your correspondent climbed aloft to the crows nest for a look around 0730. Ocean looked pretty bumpy out at sea, but lightly choppy inshore at Dee Why where there’s a little protection. Wave faces at the point are struggling to make waist high while along the beach they’re a touch bigger, maybe chest on the bigger ones. Hardly anyone in the water, so if you don’t mind choppy little lumps, it should be pretty cruisy. Wind is expected to push up into the 15-25kt range though.

Head’s up from beachwatch that pollution is likely at Manly (everywhere else has the all clear).

Outlook hasn’t changed much. The Bureau says we can expect southerly wind tomorrow morning too and from late morning on Wednesday. Swell is forecast to run along at about the current intensity for the next couple of days before we possibly see a longer period pulse on Thursday. Wind however may not play nice. Right now the models are projecting SSE to southerlies in the 15-20kt range through to the weekend at least.

Have yourself a great Monday!
