Curly tiny too

Went by Curly this morning, so stopped for a look and a picture. There was a tiny, fat, slightly sideshore little barely surfable peak toward the middle of the beach. Every now and then it’d wobble up a knee to waist high face for the keen crew. Very challenging conditions to say the least.

Not quite flat but close

Hello Friends, According to the MHL buoy data from 0500, swell energy levels are just about the same as they’ve been since Monday, which means we’re still looking at about a metre of 9-10 second SE wind swell. So, if you found something yesterday, go back there to start your search today. Wind was light […]

Micro morning in Dee Why

Hello Friends, Brace yourselves Sydney surfers. The ocean is going quiet and finding any sort of wave this morning will be a major accomplishment. There’s a tiny south line showing, but unless you have something like a two-person racing ski (see picture) you won’t be catching anything at Dee Why point. A kayak or similar […]

Just about flat this morning at Dee Why

Hello Friends, Very tiny at Dee Why this morning when I grabbed the pics. The MHL buoy was picking up 1.5 metres of close to 10 sec period south swell at 0600. So, while it appeared that there wasn’t anything above the knee high mark at the south end of the beach, maybe up toward […]

A sunny Saturday with some waves

Hello Friends, A mild and sunny day in prospect for Saturday. Wind was light offshore at daybreak and swell perked slightly from yesterday according to the MHL buoy. As of 0400 it was coming from the SSE with an average height at sea of 1.7 metres and a typical period of nearly 10 seconds. Water […]

PICS: Manly, Curly, DY this am

Grabbed a few snaps of the conditions at Manly, Curly and Dee Why around 0900 this morning as I was out and about. Manly was mildly busy crowd-wise, but smaller than yesterday and not as consistent. The best peaks were sort of around North Steyne, although I saw waves caught up and down the beach. […]

Dee Why micro morning

Hello Friends, A perfect beach day at Dee Why in every respect – bar one. Wind is west to WSW, skies are clear, tide is low at 0925 and the water’s clean and about 23C… unfortunately although the swell at 0500 was out of the east at about a metre at ll seconds. It just […]

The Goat’s Surf Forecast
