Just about flat this morning at Dee Why

Hello Friends,

Very tiny at Dee Why this morning when I grabbed the pics. The MHL buoy was picking up 1.5 metres of close to 10 sec period south swell at 0600. So, while it appeared that there wasn’t anything above the knee high mark at the south end of the beach, maybe up toward the pole it’ll be a touch bigger. But, from the look of the ocean, I reckon a waist high wave face will be a bomb today.

Tide is dropping to a low at 1130.

The dire outlook for the coming week hasn’t changed since I checked the models yesterday. It still seems we’ll have to wait until the end of the week for any prospect of an improvement. And even then, the possible uptick is currently shaping to be pretty small. The best prospect seems to be for late Thursday into Friday for some small south wind swell. The longer range models aren’t showing anything of interest for the east coast. They’re showing lots of activity in the southern ocean, but is projected to go past our swell window for the time being.

I’m off to help the Surfrider crew beach clean at Dee Why this morning. I’ll have the camera along in case I spot anything worth sharing.

Have yourself a great Sunday!
