"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Solid early

Hello Friends,

As of 0500 the swell was 4 metres from the SSE at 10 seconds. Wind was light westerly early but it’s set to be south 15-25 kts today. A run-around early revealed that Dee Why point was your only real option and even then it wasn’t too spectacularly wonderful looking. The water looked vile and the wind was already beating it up.

The gold star for interesting went to the south Narrabeen stretch where the swell and early morning wind combo was doing interesting things – if you’re up for double plus overhead sets every now and then. Looked like a heap of hard work to me and there were only a couple of bods having a go. Definitely for the hardcore only.

Down Collaroy way, things were more benign with waves in the shoulder to head plus range on (infrequnt) sets.

Outlook, is, well, see the Goat’s forecast

Tide was low at 0615 and will be high again at 1220.

Have yourself a great Saturday and don’t get in over your head if you’re a beginner!

Weather Situation
A low pressure system lies over the Tasman Sea with a trough extending from the low back towards the NSW north coast. The low and trough are expected to move fairly rapidly away to the east during Saturday. In their wake a strong high pressure system will move over southeastern Australia during the weekend to become the dominant influence into the new week. As the low moves away and the high becomes established southerly winds will gradually ease.
