Hello Friends,
Still waiting for the ocean to spark up in southern California. Today’s postcard is of a little spot we used to call Lorraine’s. It’s an autumn and winter spot, just north of El Capitan (a smoking right point on its day) and about 20 km south of The Ranch.
.
From the look of the snap below, the predicted south swell isn’t big enough to get the south end of the Collaroy Narra stretch going. The MHL data is offline sadly, so I’m left with the Bureau’s 0400 call as to size. From what they say, and from looking at the cams, it seems the swell peaked overnight and this morning’s really not too spectacular size-wise. I’d say waist to maybe shoulder with the occasional plus at south magnets. But from what I can see, the period is pretty short (@8 sec?) and the line’s not exceptionally well developed.
Some of the models show the period beginning to stretch out toward the 10 sec mark maybe late today and into tomorrow… so… maybe it’ll get better. I reckon the Goat’s called it.

Have yourself a top old Friday one and all!
