Cold, grey, glassy and waves

Hello Friends,

Swell’s arrived on schedule this morning. It’s pretty chilly and the grey skies have switched everything to monochrome, but surface conditions were glassy at 0730 and swell energy was coming in from the south to SSE. Average height at sea was 2.7 metres at 9 seconds apart. There was some longer period component in the mix too. At Dee Why the numbers were translating into a fairly inconsistent chest to shoulder plus wave faces.

Outlook is for the wind to be light south, then variable before going NW late. The Bureau sees the swell fading back this afternoon. Tomorrow is shaping to be small again and then the energy should be back up significantly from Thursday. So, if you can’t hit it today, there should be options in the near future.

Gotta jam, have a good one and expect a follow up post at some point today.

Weather Situation
Coastal winds will ease in most areas today as a high pressure ridge extends across the region. Gusty westerly winds are expected to return on Wednesday as the next cold front sweeps across the state, shifting more southerly during Thursday as the system moves away. Lighter wind conditions should return at the end of the week as a slow-moving high pressure system drifts across from the west and remains dominant through the weekend.
