Tiny tininess

Hello Friends,

At 0700 the dominant swell was 1.5 metres… at 6 seconds… from the SSW… flatness! However, there was just a hint of sub-1 metre 12-sec south component and that meant every now and again there’s just the tiniest of little waves.

The Bureau is expecting a little south pulse to appear later this morning and, indeed, if you look at the Port Kembla buoy, it seems there’s a little SE energy showing…

Wind is expected to be southwest all day.

There was a single person in the water at Manly (at the Queenscliff end of the beach). After a long wait he jagged one and I grabbed the picture below…

Over the hill at Freshwater, the conditions were slightly better. The line was long and the offshore was brushing it nicely, but waves were quite weak, so you really needed a long board or excellent small wave technique.

Curly wasn’t much different from Freshie in terms of size, but it was a bit more surfable looking at the south end. Again, waves were quite weak, but if you were in the spot and didn’t mind a brief ride…

Last stop on my run was Dee Why. It was just about perfectly flat from the point to north of the pole, but way up the beach, a solitary rider managed to catch a short knee high crumbler under the sunny skies.

Outlook is for the swell pulse to be around the waist to waist plus at magnets into tomorrow, but then it seems we’re back to just about flat according to some models, but, others are more hopeful about it lasting into Saturday… and next week is shaping up a bit more hopefully than yesterday’s predictions. Could be something interesting Tue-Weds…

Have a fantastic Thursday everybody
