Not happening this morning at Dee Why

Hello Friends,

At 0630, the wind was a steady 8-10 kt SSE and there were a few broad patches of cloud overhead. Although the Pt Kembla waverider buoy was picking up 1.5 metres of 13-sec SSE swell at 0500, wave heights at Dee Why were right on the borderline between too flat to surf and barely marginal. There were a couple of folks in the water up the beach waiting hopefully for something in the knee high range to dribble in. Nothing happened while I was watching, hence the less than interesting snapshot.

Wind is expected to swing to the E-NE later this morning and the swell energy levels show no sign of improving. So it goes I guess.

Many of the models continue to show a very brief longer period pulse overnight and into tomorrow morning. I’m only cautiously hopeful that this will turn into anything interesting for us though. Fingers crossed anyway!

Have a top old Friday and stay happy!
