South change with no waves

Hello Friends,

Classic south change hit us early this morning. By 0700 the squall line had passed through Dee Why and wind was a steady 25-30 kts from the SSE. As you can see from the picture there are great herds of white horses out at sea, but next to nothing at Dee Why. At 0500 the MHL buoy off Sydney was showing 1.3 metres of 5-6 second wind swell coming from the south.

Wind is expected to go more SE this afternoon and to throttle back a wee bit into the 15-25 kt zone. Tomorrow’s expected to see lighter, but still SE.

Surf outlook is for small, short-period mainly south wind swell right through to next week. Ankle to knee with the odd waist bomb for the most part I’d say. Looking very springish in a word.

Have yourself a great Wednesday one and all!
