Curly this morning

At first glance, Curly looked sort of interesting. There were lots of little peaks flipping over up and down the beach. But hardly anyone was in the water, which I guess is a sign. As I waited to grab a snap from the south end looking toward the middle of the beach, the issue became apparent. A still highish tide, a well textured ocean and a short period SE-E looking wind swell, were combining to create the odd chest plus wave face. Unfortunately, being a wind swell, the waves would only very briefly have any size before they slumped away to nothing again.
I checked the north end too because there were more people out. Same story though. Most catchable waves lasted just a few seconds. I did see one chap work one into the sand from outside, but it all looked pretty gutless.
Around the corner at Dee Why the wind was doing its thing and the energy levels were more in the knee to waist range.
