Good morning, you have postcards

Hello Friends,

North wind for the early along Sydney beaches and 1.7 metres of 8-sec SSE wind swell on tap. Should be some waist plusses at magnets I’d guess. Tide’s high at 0920, so could also be some fatness issues. 70% chance of percipitation, but as of 0700 the weather radar wasn’t picking up much at all.
Wind’s supposed to pick up from the N-NE and get into the option-limiting 15-25 kt range later. Swell outlook is once again pretty marginal – probably more mostly knee to waist dribble.
Here in SoCal the weather is brilliant and clear and unusually mild, but the big north Pacific storms aren’t throwing anything through the swell window. Instead, they’re crashing against Canada and whatever they’re producing is staying way out to sea. I keep hoping for something but it looks like another day of no surf options to speak of. I took my dear old mum out to breakfast at a beachside cafe and afterwards grabbed a few postcards of the groms messing about in the tiny, gutless shories. Waves are so much bigger when you’re 1.4m tall and 35kg.
Have yourself a top old day one and all!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea is directing east to northeasterly winds along the New South Wales Coast. Winds will shift north to northeasterly today, ahead of a low pressure trough that will move up the New South Wales Coast on Friday and Saturday. This trough will bring a southerly change to the south and central coasts on Friday and to the north coast on Saturday. Winds will shift east to northeasterly on Monday as a high pressure system moves over the Tasman Sea.
