Postcards from Cali etc

Hello Friends,

I see there’s 1.8 metres of 8-sec SSE swell for Sydney this morning. There’s a steady easterly sea breeze too. It’ll go around to the NE this afternoon and get up to 10-15kts. The Bureau says the swell energy will back off by then as well. Currently headed toward a low tide at 1000. I reckon weak, tetured lumpy bumpyness for most places.

The southerly should be back by midday tomorrow, but some of the models are projecting a little long period south pulse for Monday morning… maybe you’ll get lucky.

Here in SoCal we’re ekeing out what we can from small and scrappy short period wind waves. Today looked less than interesting locally, but there might be the odd (very crowded) surf option down the coast at Ventura.

Happily myself and a couple mates got a few waves yesterday afternoon at Hobson’s reef. Only us in the water at first. Got heaps of fun little runners with a borrowed mal on the incoming tide. Here are a few grabs for your diversion.

Oh, and before I forget, a big shout out of thanks to Trev for helping keep the site current by posting while I was away. Thanks man!
