How keen are you?

Hello Friends,

A few little scraps left over at Dee Why beach from yesterday afternoon and evening’s NEr. Size looked to be in the waist high range on the rare sets. Tide was high at 0520 and will be back to low at 1140. The MHL buoy was picking up a mix of short period north and SE wind swell. The biggest stuff is up to a couple of metres out at sea and was coming from the north.

As the southerly builds up to 15-25 kts later this morning, I’d expect it to knock down the northerly wind swell component. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look as though the change is going to bring us much in the way of swell energy because it’s just a local wind event. Plus, we’re looking at a 90% chance of rain today and 80% tomorrow and thereafter it looks showery on and off again through Boxing Day. Plus it looks as though the wind will basically be onshore more or less across the period. That said, some of the models are projecting a small increase in the east wind swell until about Christmas day and then could go south and pick up for Monday.

Have yourself a top old Monday, and keep on smilin’!
