Happy New Year, oh and there are little waves too

Hello Friends,

Happy New Year and welcome to 20th year of this little website!
Since I surfed yesterday, I had to get in the water today (last day of the old year, first day of the new – of course!). Unfortunately, instead of looking around, I just paddled out to where I was catching chest plus sets yesterday morning. Sadly, I should’ve watched it first. The tide was just about low and the swell had cogged down a couple of notches. That added up to knee high and dribbly little shutdowns on a very shallow bank at Longy lugga. Classic hurt-yourself conditions in my experience, so I didn’t stay out too long.
What I should have done was to either go down the beach toward No Mans, or over the hill to Curly.
There was quite a crew in the water at North Curly (where most of the action was) and wave faces on sets were solidly into the chest high range. Being an 8-sec 1.5 metre SSE wind swell, it was tricky catching ’em. Even so, looked like a good thing to be doing on a classic summer morning before the onshore.
As for the outlook, well, The Goat has spoken and wisely too in my judgement!
Get out there if you can, and stay happy!
