Hello Friends,
Swell’s out of the east again this morning and the sets are still solidly head high. Average periods are around 11 seconds but there’s 14-sec energy in the mix as well. From the look of the buoy data, the swell peaked overnight. Tide’s high this morning at 0920. Wind was light SW to begin with but should swing around to the SE later. Fortunately the Bureau tells us that the winds should be pretty light.
Dee Why point was crazy crowded when I checked the first time around 0745. The beach was less so, but scrappier looking. So, be realistic about how many waves you’ll get – particularly if you’re going for a magnet spot like the point.
The good news is that the forecasts continue to point toward waves from the east through the rest of the week. At least a couple of the interpretations are showing a quick and solid pulse for Thursday. Pretty good for summertime I’d say.

Weather Situation
A low and trough over the Tasman Sea continue to move away whilst a ridge of high pressure extends across New South Wales from a high south of Western Australia. The high is expected to move east towards Tasmania, reaching the southern Tasman Sea later Tuesday. Another trough is expected to develop over inland New South Wales and deepen during the week. Southeast to northeasterly winds are expected through the week.

Southerly 10 to 15 knots turning east to southeasterly below 10 knots in the late afternoon.
Seas
Around 1 metre, decreasing below 1 metre around midday.
1st Swell
Southerly 1.5 to 2 metres, decreasing to 1 to 1.5 metres around midday, then decreasing to around 1 metre by early evening.
2nd Swell
Easterly 1.5 metres.
Weather
Partly cloudy. 20% chance of a shower.
Caution
Deceptively powerful surf conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as crossing bars by boat and rock fishing.
