Tiny glassy bumps at Dee Why this morning

Hello Friends,

According to the MHL buoy there was just under a metre of 8-second east wind swell off Sydney at 0500. And looking at the other buoy reports up and down the coast from us, it looks much the same from end to end. At Dee Why there was a small crew bobbing about down near the club. They were chasing down ankle to knee high bumps and every now and again finding something that ran more than a few metres.

Tide’s coming in from the low at 0400 to a 1.93 metre high at 1025. At 0730 wind was faintly NW but it should swing around to the NE later. I wonder if it’ll refresh our bluebottle population…

The Bureau’s swell modelling shows an increase in wave size this afternoon. It’s not dramatic, but maybe we could get some waist plus at magnet… that can cope with the NE.

Outlook is for a slight bump upwards tomorrow. The wind will be an issue, so I reckon the early will be the shot. Could be the same deal again Friday morning and then it looks as though we could be in for a marginal weekend, but gee, I hope the models showing an extended run of 12-sec east power for next week turn out to have some relation to reality…

Have yourself a top old day one and all and keep on smilin’!
