Postcards from an unexpected road trip south

Hello Friends,

Not quite the day I’d originally envisaged… had to run my
Surfing buddy from California back to the airport first thing, so knew Ai wouldn’t have time to get a report done first. Still, I can tell you that it was microscopically tiny at Manly when we went by the beach at about 0700 and looking at the MHL data just now, I’d say that won’t have changed as it was nudging the metre mark but with an average period of 7-8 seconds.
As I write this we’ve just gone past Bombo where we caught a glimpse of three or four stalwarts attempting to ride slightly sideshore ankle to knee high dribblers.
Not long ago we pulled over to get a look at Sandon and I grabbed a couple of snaps for you. Again, very tiny on the north side but gee, you could almost believe in that left peak on the south side…
I’m

South side of Sandon point looked plausible, but no one in water.

When he heard my pal Guy needed dropping to the airport to catch the bus to LAX, erstwhile RS reporter PB offered to do the run in his shmick new touring van, and then, if I was interested, I could tag along while he explored an add-on destination for his Coastlines and Country Towns tour.

So, coffees in hand, we’re off to Hyams Beach for a look around…

I shall try to post again about our further adventures. You can check out PB’s site here: http://baileys-sydney.com/coastline-country-towns/
