Swell faded yesterday afternoon and it looks to still be marginal. The MHL buoy is showing a metre from the SSE at about 10 seconds. Tide’s on the way down to the low at 1030 as I write this and unfortunately there’s not much going on at Dee Why. There were a couple of folks out enjoying the quiet conditions on their SUPs, but I didn’t see anyone on a board. Not surprising really because waves looked to be maybe knee high.
Wind was expected to be south to SE, but as of 0700 it was still west. Outlook is for it to be NE tomorrow and north on Friday. The models are generally showing a small uptick for tomorrow and Friday, but it doesn’t look like anything too amazing. With luck there’ll be a few little bumps to play on at magnet spots for the generally east direction being predicted.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system lies over the Tasman Sea with a ridge over New South Wales. A cold front crossing the Tasman Sea has brought a weak southerly change to southern half of the coast overnight. It is expected to weaken on the north coast today with winds tending northerly in the south in the afternoon or evening. The ridge of high pressure will re-establish itself over the north today. The next cold front is expected along the southern half of the coast on Saturday.
