Updated surf forecast..issued Monday 4 July 2016…
- Just to show everyone that Mother Nature won’t be told what to do…she currently looks like developing an East Coast Low in the next few days…Depending on how she decides to proceed with the ECL the surf outlook for those days may be quite different to last Thursday’s forecast… Current indications…subject to how the ECL moves over the land and ocean, are:
Tuesday: about 1 metre or so give or take
Wednesday: coming in from the South East 1-2 2-3 metres
Thursday: 4 – 6 metres or more South East
Friday: 3 – 4 or more metres South East
Saturday: 3- 4 metres South East
Will see how she goes..?
ECLs are difficult to predict..
Surf forecast issued Thursday 30 June 2016: Seven day outlook for Sydney:
How cold has it been, first thing in the morning !!? Some mornings, the Bureau’s apparent temp for Sydney Airport (which is exposed on the coast) has been zero or less, even if the temperature might have said 7 or 8! (http://www.bom.gov.au/nsw/observations/sydney.shtml?ref=hdr)….Too cool for this little duck.
With more Westerly type winds expected there’ll probably be a few cool mornings in the coming week (maybe not as bad as last, and despite me telling a mate in Mudgee to stop sending cold air down here), but the low air temps don’t make getting wet particularly attractive for most people, even if the water is just under 20.
Surf: Varying from almost nothing, to moderate, to small, to almost nothing, to small…
But there will be waves in offshore conditions on several days for the hardy ones
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Friday: 1 metre or less at first, starting to come up later (into the night) at places open to dead South swell
Saturday: 1-2 metre range at places open to dead South swell, without much oomph…smaller elsewhere
Sunday: 1 metre or less
Monday: ditto
Tuesday: in the 1-2 metre range at dead South places..probably nothing elsewhere
Wednesday: around 1 metre dead South
Thursday: 1-1+ metres North East
Friday: about 1 metre or so North East.
