Hello Friends,
Been away from the Net for a few days, so sorry about the lack of reports. At around 0500 Saturday morning the MHL buoy was showing 1.8 metres of 10-sec SSE swell and the North Head weather station was picking up light westerlies. Tide was coming into the first high of the day at 0530.
The Bureau says Sydney’s in for a rather cool (17C) and cloudy day with a slight chance of precipitation along the coastal fringe. Wind’s expected to swing around to the SE and be into the 10-15kt range later. Swell should stay around the same level and that should mean waist to chest at magnets on sets I’d guess.
This morning’s run of the models is pointing toward a decline in energy levels across the coming week. Indeed, if they’re right it could go just about flat. The Goat is covering my usual 0730 surf report and forecast slot on ABC 702 this morning, so for the absolute latest, you should tune in!
Meanwhile, here in SoCal we’re in the grip of a typical July flat spell. What swell there is is coming from the SW at about 8 seconds apart. That’d be bad enough, but it’s also only 0.5 m up here in Santa Barbara (ie unsurfable).
A couple of snaps for you from the surfline cams…
