"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Midget

Very sad news.  He was a good mate.  Only heard yesterday he was back in hospital with stomach cancer.

An all round surfer short board, long board, surfboat sweep… he was a champion in many respects. Humble, quiet, a very knowledgeable person. He surprised me one day by saying he ( re) joined a surf club after reading something I’d written about boardriders and club members in a SLSA magazine.

The quote on the SMH about his win at Makaha being the catalyst for everything related to surfing  that followed is absolutely correct.

Condolences to Bev and the girls.

I will miss having a chat with him.
