Swell’s faded to around the ankle to knee high level this morning at Dee Why. There might be something a little bigger at spots with optimal alignment for the 1 metre 8-second SE bump. Wind was 10-12 kts from the WSW at North Head as of 0700. Tide was high at 0430 and is dropping to the low at 1010. Beachwatch is calling the water 17.
This morning’s modelling from the Bureau shows the current conditions prevailing through to Wednesday when there might possibly be a tiny uptick. But overall the outlook is pretty ordinary I’m afraid. Most models I looked at are showing near flatness all week but at least one is being quite optomistic for a useful south pulse on Thursday… here’s hoping…

Weather Situation
A weak ridge of high pressure is sprawled across northern New South Wales, while a slow-moving trough is situated over the south. This trough will bring a brief southerly change to the southern half of the coast today, before decaying on Tuesday as generally northerly winds are restored throughout. Another trough, and associated cold front, looks set to bring a gusty westerly change to most coastal waters later Wednesday or Thursday. By the end of the week this system is likely to be well offshore, with conditions easing as a fairly nondescript pressure pattern becomes established.
